The Crepes

Didn't have time to talk about the crepes at all in the last post.

That picture was of my very first crepe, while not bad, I would like to make some changes next time around. First off, use wheat flour for something a bit more traditional. I also need to actually measure the batter a bit more next time to get an idea of how much to use, they were a bit thicker then I would like, though the next couple attempts we're a bit better. I'll probably use much less butter next time on the pan or none at all.

The recipe I used was

2 cups Flour (I used all purpose, probably go all wheat or half and half next time.
2 eggs
1 tbs oil
3 cups of milk.

If your making a dessert crepe, mix in a bit of vanilla extract and sugar into the batter.

Smug Alert!!

South Park called it back in '06. Watch out San Francisco.

Schmidt says she bought the Prius two years ago partly because of the huge potential savings on gasoline, but also because the car offered her a chance to be environmentally conscious.

The other day, she pulled up next to another Prius — and the two drivers exchanged a knowing smile of eco-camaraderie.

"There can be some smugness on the part of the Prius owners because it's distinctive," says Michael Omotoso of the automotive-marketing-data giant J.D. Power and Associates. "It's 'Hey, look at me, I'm driving a hybrid!'"

Studies conducted by J.D. Power show that the typical hybrid purchaser is better educated and wealthier than the average car buyer. Furthering the exclusivity is the fact that available hybrids are hard to find. Fox News

This story remind South Park fans of an episode by chance?

This weeks activities

Thursday went down to the SLO Farmers Market with my brother, sister in law, niece, nephew and Gwen, the french foreign exchange student. It was a bit larger then I thought it would be, a bit over a city block and all shut down to traffic.Oddly enough I think Hayden had fun, mainly because he got ice cream, a churro, even though he wouldn't get the vanilla one and carrots. Yes, the boy doesn't like any other vegetable or heck, even chicken but he loves carrots so I just had to buy a bunch (picture below).

I think the girls enjoyed it but the second they split off from us they ran off to the shops downtown, supposedly to look for a couple things for Gwen to buy for her mom but somehow I end up buying Kylie a shirt, Starbucks and a book, how does that happen.

Last night I put together dinner for Gwen last night here. I decided to make Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo. Was the first time that I have ever blanched broccoli and I have to say I was actually really impressed with the results. Afterwards I made a raspberry sauce to top off an Angel food cake, picture below was before straining the seeds out of it.
